Guiding Principles to the Implementation of IEC-61508

SIPI Functional Safety Database Goes Live

A primary aim of the SIPI Project is to collate material relating to IEC61508, and to Functional Safety issues in general, and to make this material, or references to it, available to the Process Industry sector.

The SIPI Technical Data Repository of more than 100 papers, articles, guidelines, checklists, worked examples and other material, most of which can be directly downloaded, is now available on the SIPI web-site. The database can be searched by key word or phrase to find documents containing reference to specific topics of interest. A list of all available documents can also be accessed, from which those of interest can be selected for download.

During the remainder of the project (which is due to end in summer of 2004) further material will be added. It is also planned to improve the functionality of the site by classifying the material and providing other tools to make retrieval easier.
