The SIPI
web site has undergone a major upgrade to provide more facilities
and to improve its appearance and useability.
The main
improvements are in the search and query tools provided; now
many documents are classified by Lifecycle Phase and
can be extracted by selection directly from a lifecycle diagram.
Where the lifecycle phase is not relevant, such as documents
providing an overview of the standard or relating to more general
safety issues, these can also be queried with one click. A further
facility is provided which approximately relates Supply Chain
Position to lifecycle phase, enabling those articles relevant
to a company's particular activities to be easily extracted.
In addition, information from workshops can be accessed via
an interactive map of Europe.
The Functional
Safety Resource Database now consists of hundreds of papers,
presentations, worked examples and other material, most of which
can be directly downloaded from the site. The material covers
most of the lifecycle phases and, in addition to the
specific search options detailed above, can be searched by key
word or phrase to find relevant guidance; this functionality
making this a valuable and unique source of information and
guidance on Functional Safety issues.
Whilst
most papers are in English, papers in a number of other European
languages are also available.

The SIPI
web site continues to provide news and details of activities
of SIPI spin-off groups and many other groups and organisations
associated with safety issues.
